Jason was a great captain! He baited and casted my line 95% of the time as im not an experienced fisher. Wish my Dad and i would have caught more fish, but we still had a great time! The only thing is that my dad and I thought we were doing “near shore” fishing meaning the ocean shoreline, not the port shoreline. As the website read they go up to 5 miles off shore. That’s why we took a 6 hour trip because we thought it would give us more time to fish in different places in the ocean. And that was not the case. We prepared to fish for bigger fish one finds in the ocean, yet since we were in the port, the majority of fish were small. A bit disappointing but I guess I should have confirmed this upon booking. Just note to those looking to book, confirm all of this before you book your trip.

Great fishing trip with my 23 year old son. Guide was very helpful and we fished a number of different spots. We had an interest in space and did a brief sight seeing tour to a Space X rocket. We caught a variety of fish including a 22 inch flounder and two mangrove snapper that we ate for dinner at Grills restaurant.

We took our boys 17 and 15 offshore fishing with Jay and Randy. The day was hot, but the Atlantic was calm and clear. We didn’t get into a mess of fish but we had some hits and ended up with a decent size Kingfish that will feed us for a couple of days! Jay and Randy made sure there were always lines in the water and would switch it up if we weren’t getting any hits. I can’t recommend these guys enough. They were great with the boys. Down to earth. Knew what the heck they were doing and easy to have a conversation with. When we come back to the area we will definitely be hitting ShayJay up again.

I booked this trip as a birthday present for my boyfriend. He loved it! We had to pull into the docks at one point because of lightning, but we went back out after a few minutes to let some of it pass. Mother nature does what she wants haha, so we didn't mind. My boyfriend caught lots of fish and our Captain kindly prepared one of the snappers that my boyfriend caught. We had a wonderful adventure despite the inclement weather.

We caught plenty of fish, though most were on the smaller side. Jason worked hard the entire trip, but the big ones just didn’t cooperate this time. Still, we had a good time and plan to book with him again next time we're on Florida’s east coast.

They did a great job keeping my son engaged and on the fish. The crew stayed dialed in on the bite and kept us moving where the action was. We didn’t land any big ones, but my son had a blast—and that’s what mattered most.

Captain Jason did everything he could to get each member of my family on a fish, even with tough conditions thanks to Mother Nature. It wasn’t the easiest day, but by the end, we all landed one. The trip was fun overall—some fish, some photos, and plenty of laughs. Jason and Randy were great to fish with, the gear was solid, and the boat was clean and well-kept. Hoping to get back down and fish with them again someday.

Captain Jason did what he could to try and get everyone in my family onto a fish. Not an easy task this day, since mother nature wasn't at her best today. But by the end of it, we all caught a fish. Overall it was a fun trip, few fish, a few pictures, and a few laughs. Jason and Randy were great guys, nice equipment, and a professionaly kept boat. I hope to come down and get in the boat again some day. Thanks fellas, a highlight of our vacation.

Our offshore trip had to be changed due to wind, but Captain Jason gave us a heads-up a few days early and offered an inshore option instead. We didn’t catch a ton of fish, but we landed 4–6 different species—including a couple of baby sharks. The crew was great throughout. You can’t make the fish bite every day, but they definitely gave it their all.

Jason and Randy are great guys and clearly know their way around the Cape Canaveral waters. The bite wasn’t nonstop, but they still put us on fish—and I even landed a Snook. You’re guaranteed a good time when you book with ShayJay Fishing Charters!
